Westward Look Resort Wedding

Oh, friends, I am so excited to share this Westward Look Resort Wedding with you today! This was the first wedding since May so it was my long-awaited wedding season premiere. I’ve been waiting all summer for this wedding season and I couldn’t be happier that it started with Lauren and Kyle at Westward Look Resort.

There were so many beautiful parts of the day, but the one thing that sticks out most is the Love! I know, it was a wedding, of course, there was love but seriously. Lauren and Kyle are so in love. The warmth of their families for these two was overwhelming. The sincerity of the toasts to the newlyweds and the support of their friends proved how amazing L&K are as a couple.

A few good luck rain showers started the day but quickly moved on. The sun came out to shine on Lauren and Kyle for the rest of the day. I was greeted by Lauren with a hug (I love huggers) at Gadabout Salon & Spa where her and her tribe were getting pampered. She was absolutely glowing and never stopped smiling.

Lauren got ready in a beautiful suite and shared Champagne & fruit (and Cheetos) with her mom and bridesmaids. Speaking of bridesmaids, Lauren’s were so sweet and so excited to share this important day with her. They laughed with her and cried with her. They danced with her and most importantly they stood by her as she joined her life with Kyle.

Westward Look Resort has many beautiful areas. The hummingbird garden was so full of color that it was perfect for Laren and Kyle’s first look! The wedding ceremony was a perfect example of two people becoming one. Lauren’s dad may have given her away with words but it’s clear she will always be his little girl. Lauren and Kyle wrote their own vows. They promised to love forever and to help the other through tough seasons of life. They vowed to use their married life to honor God and each other, and last but not least to stick to the takeout budget!

“Kyle and I love our hometown of Tucson, so we wanted to take advantage of the beauty Tucson has to offer. Westward Look hit every check mark we were looking for- natural desert landscapes, the close proximity of all three spaces, the privacy of our event, the beautiful accommodations, and the incredible views!! We totally stumbled upon the venue and fell in love. Kyle and I were loving the idea of blending in with the natural beauty of Tucson, so we chose colors and decor that accentuated the desert- blush pinks, navy, lots of pale greenery, terracotta pots, and whitewashed lanterns.

Kyle and I danced to “Bloom” by The Paper Kites because the lyrics are so beautiful and Kyle actually played it on the night of our engagement. Our parent dances were special to us too because the words represented real wishes and hopes from our mothers and fathers to us!

We really put our trust into our friends and family on our wedding day. We had specific ideas and had planned for a long time how the day was going to go, but let go of any strongholds on little decorations, exact timing, and pesky details are so unnecessary and have the potential to ruin your mood. Our friends and family knew our vision and were able to push us through to the end when things were too stressful!!

My favorite part of planning our wedding was having Kyle so involved. I always heard of the bride planning everything and the groom just going along with the plans but Kyle and I truly did the entire wedding together.
